Society of Railway Friends DZP gathers enthusiasts, railway admirers, and it exists almost 30 years, with small interruptions. On the day of 18th of November, 1971 this organization was founded. At the moment, this is the only organization of this kind in Serbia and Montenegro, which gathers enthusiasts interested in the history, development and practice of either the real "big" railway, or the railway modeling and collectioning.

Main scopes and field of activity of DPZ:

• Development of interests in enlargement of theory and practice knowledge, regarding railway transport, including history and future development,
• Spreading of technical knowledge, in the field of railway constructing and functioning, and also promotion of initiative and interests in further development of the railway,
• Popularization of the railway modeling, through lessons, manufacturing and usage of club model and model stock.

Today the society gathers over 50 active and honorary members, with the tendency of the permanent growth.

DPZ organizes its work through the work of these sections:

• Miniature railways,
• Subsection of railway models,
• Subsection of model manufacturing,
• History and development of the railway,
• Photo-video section,
• Excursion-tourist section.

Above all this, there is an active stock market, publishing and cultural activity in the society (exhibitions, parades, etc.), work with young people, and other activities.

The society has its own model, as well as large library including books and professional magazines, regarding the railway transport.

DPZ has a long-term successful co-operation with the Railway Museum from Belgrade, and this relationship is still being developed and improved, through numerous actions, as for example:

• Maintaining the museum model,
• Helping with organization of the memory collection of the strait track in Pozega,
• Common lectures,
• The projections of video and film materials, etc.

DPZ meetings are held every Tuesday, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, at the room no. 12 at the Central Railway Station, Belgrade, 2 Savski Square.
